Ayria is
the electronic project of ex-Epsilon Minus singer Jennifer Parkin.
The idea for Ayria began to take shape in January, 2003. Soon
the project became mainly a collaboration of both Shaun Frandsen
(Seattle, USA) and Jennifer Parkin (Toronto, Canada) who saw
the album through to completion in September, 2003. Other musicians
featured on the upcoming debut album, entitled "Debris", include
Iris (Diffusion Records), Delobbo (Rubin Roche), Massiv In Mensch
(Artofact Records) and DJ Ram (Virtual Server). Ayria's "Debris"
was released November 7th, 2003 on Alfa Matrix and has since
been receiving excellent reviews. The release has even charted
on German's prestigious DAC charts. The album Debris can be
described as a combination of aggressive EBM tracks with more
melodic synthpop tracks lavished with rich female vocals.
First things
first. The name "Ayria", is kind of a play on the word "aria"
which I think is a beautiful word and I wanted something that
had a similar feel but wasn't as overused. Ayria is my new musical
project started in January 2003. I originally wanted to work
with lots of different musicians on each track for this new
project and I did work with other artists like Delobbo, Massiv
In Mensch, Iris and DJ Ram/Virtual Server on tracks and I think
I found a good blend of styles by doing this. Overall, the majority
of Ayria is now made up of myself and Shaun Fransden of Glis
(also on Alfa Matrix).
